Here's everything you need to know about surviving, and profiting from, encounters with the Giant Spider in all its forms.

Where to Find the Giant Spider

You'll most frequently encounter the Giant Spider deep in the Goblin Caves and the twisted halls of the Forgotten Castle. These zones are already known for their environmental traps and tight layouts, and the spider's presence only makes them more treacherous. Giant Spiders are commonly placed in rooms with loot, making them a persistent gatekeeper between you and valuable Dark and Darker Items.

Normal Variant

The normal Giant Spider has a simple but effective moveset that punishes unprepared players:

Two-Legged Poke: A close-range physical attack that can be avoided by circle-strafing left or right. It can also be baited, creating a short window for retaliation.

Poison Projectile: A long-ranged venom spit that applies a poison debuff and, more dangerously, silences melee attacks for a short duration. If you're relying on a sword or axe, this can leave you completely vulnerable. The best way to avoid this attack is to side-strafe while keeping distance.

In addition to its offensive capabilities, the Giant Spider will also deploy ground webs. These webs dramatically slow movement when stepped on dark and darker keys, creating a tactical hazard that can ruin an escape or disrupt your combat flow.

Solo players should be cautious; even the normal version can wear you down if you aren't dodging correctly. However, successfully killing one can drop entry-level Dark and Darker Items, like potions, web-based crafting materials, or low-tier armor, that can be sold for Dark and Darker Gold or used in alchemy.
